Definitions

Customer

The customer is an individual who has a registered account with OwnerContactPIN Limited and has “active” Premium, “OCPIN-LITE” or Virtual Tags. The customer will be provided with information in relation to lost property provided that they have met all obligations as detailed in this “Terms and Conditions of Usage”.

 

Customer Profile

This is information on registered customers that OwnerContactPIN Limited keeps to enable OwnerContactPIN Limited to provide their service to customers. The profile contains amongst other information details of all Tags registered by the customer. Membership contact information is stored on a secure server and personal details will never be passed on to any Third Party.  However, in the event of a request from a Legal Entity e.g. Police Officer, Customs & Excise etc., to provide owner details, then OwnerContactPIN Limited will contact the Member and may need to provide contact information to such an Entity. OCPIN Limited is registered with the Data Protection Agency Registration No: Z3237024.

 

OCPIN (Owner Contact Personal Identification Number) Limited

OCPIN Limited is a company registered in England & Wales, registration No: 08063953. OwnerContactPIN is an Internet based business operating from the UK. It is not an Internet Service Provider (ISP). The company provides a service to its customers to re-unite lost property with its rightful owner. This service is available on a worldwide basis twenty four hours a day every day of the year, subject to planned maintenance activities and availability of services from in-country service providers.

 

OwnerContactPIN Service and Membership

OwnerContactPIN Limited (OCPIN) provides a Lost Property Owner Contact service that will assist with the identification and location of found items displaying the OwnerContactPIN Tag with its unique 16 character alpha numeric code.

Annual membership to OwnerContactPIN services (excluding “OCPIN-LITE” IATA style Tags) commences on the activation of Premium Tags for new members via the OwnerContactPIN website. When a customer first buys a dual or multipack Premium product they receive FREE one year membership to the OwnerContactPIN service. Customers can also upgrade their membership from a trial account by subscribing using a link in their Tag Manager.

The Annual Membership renewal cost is based on an individual’s profile not for each Premium Tag purchased. If an existing member purchased additional Premium Tags during the first year of membership, or during follow on years, then the membership year for those new Premium Tags would carry the same anniversary date as that for the first Premium Tags activated.

When a member’s reported 'Lost' item is found but is associated with an expired member account, a service charge must be paid before information on the lost item can be sent to the customer. The customer will be notified of this including instructions on how to pay. The customer will also be advised to re-subscribe to the service.

OwnerContactPIN, may at its discretion provide additional services to members. These services may be provided free or may incur a cost.  Where a cost is incurred, the customer will have the right to refuse the service. 

 

OwnerContactPIN Website

OwnerContactPIN provides a website for customers to maintain their profile details and to buy product.  This website is available on a worldwide basis twenty four hours a day every day of the year, subject to planned maintenance activities and availability of services from in-country service providers.

 

SITA World Tracer System

The SITA “World Tracer” baggage tracing and management system is installed in over 2,200 airports worldwide.  OwnerContactPIN has a link to this system.  If an item with a valid OwnerContactPIN Tag is found, once the handling company place the details into the system, OwnerContactPIN will receive a notification which will be sent automatically with relevant information to the customer providing the customer has an active membership. Please note it is currently optional for the baggage handler to use this system, there is no gurantee that they will everytime.

 

Tags

Premium Tag

OwnerContactPIN Premium Tags are owned and operated by OCPIN Limited. They contain a unique 16 character alpha numeric code that is anonymously linked to a customer’s profile. These Tags are valid for as long as the customer maintains their annual membership subscription.

 

OCPIN-LITE (IATA style Tag)

OwnerContactPIN “OCPIN-LITE” Tag is an International Air Transport Association (IATA) style paper Tag. Owned and operated by OwnerContactPIN Limited, it contains a unique 16 character alpha numeric code that is anonymously linked to a customer’s profile. These Tags are valid for a period of three months from the date of registration. Although labelled as “OCPIN-LITE” Tags, they can be used for multiple trips within the three month period provided they remain legible for finders.

 

Virtual Tag

OwnerContactPIN virtual Tags are FREE for users whilst they have an active membership. Owned and operated by OCPIN Limited, the Tags contain a unique 16 character alpha numeric code that is anonymously linked to a customer’s profile. These Tags are valid for as long as the customer’s membership is active. OwnerContactPIN reserves the right to withdraw the offer of new FREE virtual Tags at any time.

 

OwnerContactPIN Responsibilities

  1. OwnerContactPIN Limited will provide/forward any reported information that will assist with the identification, location and recovery of any lost item displaying a valid Tag code.
  2. OwnerContactPIN Limited will use the information provided within the customer’s personal profile to communicate with them.
  3. OwnerContactPIN Limited will on a best endeavor basis provide access to the website twenty four hours a day every day of the year, subject to planned maintenance activities and availability of services from in-country service providers.
  4. If requested by an Authorized Control Authority e.g. Police Officer, Customs and Excise Officer or Border Control Enforcement Officer, OwnerContactPIN Limited will contact the owner or provide contact information to such an authority.

Customer Responsibilities

Lost Items

  1. It is the customer’s responsibility to act on the information provided by OwnerContactPIN Limited in order to contact, negotiate, claim and recover all personal lost items.

Registration of Details

  1. Customers will be required to register their details in order for the service to be activated.
  2. Customers must ensure that their contact details, mobile phone number and email address are kept up to date. Customers may update their personal profiles by logging into their accounts and using the " My Account" function.

Tags

  1. The customer is responsible for ensuring that the OwnerContactPIN Tag is in good repair and can be easily accessed by baggage handlers or others in the event of the property it is attached to being found.

Disclaimer

  1. OCPIN Limited is not responsible for the non-delivery of any text or email information as a result of incorrect information being held in the customer’s profile, or for the lack of services due to failure of systems for in-country service providers.
  2. Contact information is sent over UK and international Mobile phone service provider networks and local cell services. OwnerContactPIN Limited bears no responsibility for any poor quality of service "QOS" provided by international mobile service provider networks or the non-delivery of mobile data or voice traffic.
  3. OwnerContactPIN Tags have been developed to clearly display a member's unique code number. OwnerContactPIN Limited cannot be held liable should any tag or strap become damaged, lost, or broken whilst attached to any personal tem or device whilst it is in transit.
  4. OwnerContactPIN Limited is not responsible for the shipping, delivery, tracking or confirmation of the delivery of any lost item. The company does not bear any responsibility or act as an intermediary delivery service for the recovery of lost items.
